Named driver experience question.

Hi. My 18 year old son has partial named driver experience. He was named on our policy under the Aviva driving School from 1/3/2019 until 1/9/2019 as a learner driver. He has been insured as a named driver on the same policy from 3/10/2019 to present. He passed his test at the beginning of October. Does anyone know of insurance companies that will recognise this as driving experience and apply a decent discount if he were to take out a policy in his own name?

Ironically Aviva won't. They don't recognise named driver experience, they only recognise driving school experience and even then only if you complete all 3 modules.

    Many thanks.

For insurers to recognise it and allow any benefit the named driving experience has to be for 1 full year ie no breaks, doesn't sound like he has that so probably not.

Yeah even if he continues on till April he will have two blocks of 6 months. But I guess the break between them will mean no company will recognise it as named driving experience?

Do you know of anyone currently offering good pricing for an 18 year old male with a full license on a small engined car?

Boxymo are probably the best bet or try some of the bigger brokers like Chill or Quote Devil.
