Upstairs zone only heats when downstairs on.

I recently got my house zoned and there is a strange issue where the upstairs zone only heats when the downstairs zone is on.

I suspected the upstairs flow valve is a continuation of the downstairs flow and the downstairs valve is acting before it this stopping the hot water. However the pipe before the upstairs valve is not hot so it's quite a strange issue.l?

    Anybody have any ideas?

If you only had it done recently, call the installer back to resolve.

Could be a number of issues (even just incorrect wiring, not calling the heating on for demand for upstairs)

It's been a while ago but I certainly will. There is a call for heat but no water coming through which makes my still suspect the downstairs valve is before the upstairs valve and need to have the downstairs valve open to control the other zones.

Well if that is the case, the installer needs to come back, as not correctly zoned.
