    Hi,
My kitchen ceiling has exposed beams in it. to the top of the beam it measure 287cm
I have a light fixture that right now is measuring 125cm but can be shortened to 75cm.
If I shorten it to 75 cm is that enough clearance without making uncomfortable looking(212cm)

No pictures makes it difficult to say as I cant visualise the style of light fitting
Also should be to your own personal taste
What do you think yourself like ?

    Thats the light.
    The ceiling is attached
Its hard to say if the light foxture needs that long drop to seem right

Yes your right I see now what you mean; it is difficult to say how much lower than the beams it would need to be in order to look right because the black cables compliment the balls too,
I'd say it should still look alright at 75cm as that's just under 30 inches and you would still see the cables at certain points of the room.
