    Hi all

Have a timber front door in a rental property I own. Color was a very very faded blue so decided to paint it. Bought a lovely royal blue gloss timber paint but when I gave it the first coat it didn't seem to take very well ? Left it for two days and gave it a second coat and it's only marginally improved, can still see elements of original color ?

What have I done wrong or missed out on ?

    Hi,
Did you sand it to rough up the surface a little before applying any paint?
Z light sanding would help the paint soak in too

Gave it a light sanding all over before first coat and thought that would have been sufficient. Only seems to have been effective in places ?

Can you tell us exactly what sort of paint you bought?

Dulux wood paint , marine blue, gloss. Marked as perfect for all outdoor timber except traffic areas of decking.
Will try and post a pic of the tin when I get back to the property tomorrow or day after.
