Foresters in South Tipp

I'm looking for a forester in South Tipp to advise about thinning about 6 acres of ash. Where would I go about finding one?

There is a list of Registered Forester's , do an online search for it. You could also look at the Tipperary and Limerick forestry growers website for some information.

There is not much to it and its nice enough work.

The guidance is aimed at final crop trees though; I came to the conclusion that thinning with hurleys in mind might make a few quid before the disease lands.

So I have just removed hurley butts and thinned out the rest pretty heavily. I'll go back in 2 or tree years for more hurleys if the disease stays away.

I'm pretty close to you and the dieback is everywhere.

FWIW mine is 25 yrs old
