Adblue from Circle K

Does Adblue from Circle K has the same quality as the one available in Halfords?
My car needs Adblue and there is a circle K station with adblue pump. But I have only seen trucks there and wondering if there is a difference in quality for cars vs trucks?

What qualities do you normally look for in your pee?

Mostly water with salts like sodium, potassium, urea, etc.

It's all the same, it's probably cheaper from the pump, than buying 5l drums in Halfords, plus you'll have the benefit of only having to pump exactly what you need, and not be left with half a drum sitting around for months.

    Edit:
I noticed an adblue pump at the amber station on Bandon rd roundabout in cork.
    I think it was 79.9¢/l
That works out at €4 per 5L

    Edit edit:
    Halfords charge €8 for 3.5L (228c/L ) and €13 for 10L (130c/L)

Im not sure but i don't think it's recommended to put Ad blue in a car from the pump, think the pumps are for trucks only, it must pump at a seriously high pressure.

Using Add Blue from a pump is no problem and actually safer than filling from drums, its not very paint friendly so much easier to fill from the pump. have been using a pump to top up mine on the A6 for the last three years.

    Thanks for this info.

    It's for my C-Class Bluetec.

I will push the release bar for Adblue slowly in order to avoid high pressure.
Usually I have to add for 6-7 euros only and tank is full.

I think there may be different pumps for trucks and cars. Originally only trucks used Adblue, and in much larger quantities.

If it's with the normal Car pumps, you'll be grand.

Don't stop at the AdBlue pump next to the Truck pumps.

The Circle K in Ballysimon Rd in Limerick for example has a completely different area for trucks to fill up with diesel.
I would then assume that the adblue pump in the canopy area is not for large trucks.

Yeah basically what ROR said :)

I used the Applegreen on the M1 near Lusk. It was the first time I'd had to refill it, so I popped inside first to ask. When I spoke to the girl she specifically told me to go to the one that the trucks use, so I had to go back out to the main roundabout and in via the HGV entrance. Took forever to get anywhere with the pump as it kept clicking off.

After 15 mins I had about €1.20 in and just left it. That night, while coming back down the M1 i went into the one on the opposite side (southbound) and it was the same story, except this one wasn't nearly as bad. Took 10 mins of gently squeezing the pump to get a tenner's worth into the car.

I had this issue in the very beginning.
The trick is not to insert the nozzle completely into the tank, as it has a long nozzle.

That's where I got it once from. Is it safe to go to that truck area? because that's where the Adblue pump is located.

Come off at Junction 7 (Northbound) - Gormanston/Julianstown and there's a Circle K on the left (near the City North Hotel) - car AdBlue pump is with the fuel pumps furthest from the shop.

I never saw different ones, but regardless the truck ones work perfectly and as others said makes it a clean job and your only paying for exactly what you need. It doesn’t pump it out at a very fast flow.

I’m surprised more petrol stations don’t have them as most diesels have adblue now. I guess they make more money out of selling containers

If you get it from the pump can you get it on your fuel card , the annoying thing about circle K for me was they wouldn't let you put the bottles of Ad blue on your fuel card!

Cheers, never knew that. The two I referenced above operate via card so you pay at the pump and no need to go into the shop. Is the J7 one like this or does it operate same as a petrol/diesel pump?

Operates the same as the petrol/diesel pump I think. Haven't had to use it yet though, but there's no pay at pump facility at that service station.

Yeah there’s no pay at pump there, but it’s grand and quick fill with a clean shroud over the nozzle. There’s a bucket of water and a cloth thing sitting there too in case you splash any on the paint. Only place I’d go for mine, I just top up any time I’m near Dublin.

I noticed adblue drums in Aldi during the week, not sure which store I was in.
