New van, disks going out of date

Bought a van from a dealer 2 weeks ago.
    - Tax was up yesterday.
    - Changed insurance on the day but still no sign of a disk. Still the same policy as the old van, but the disk I have has the old van reg on it.
    - new cvrt done by dealer with expiry in December, but no disk yet, only have the old disk on it about to expire on Monday
    - logbook still hasn’t arrived so can’t tax it.
    - Yes dealer is trustworthy but just waiting on everything.

I need to drive about 1000 miles next week.
What do I do to not get done?

If one checks the cvrt website, the new date comes up. If the insurance company is contacted, the new van is there, I checked. I carry the receipt of purchase with me as well.

Last I think 7 (could be wrong on the exact number) digits of your vin is your pin for tax so you can do it yourself. Check that a change has taken place on the motor tax website dealers do it online not by post.

When was the CVRT test passed?
If the vehicle was still registered to the previous owner, and the test centre did not mark the vehicle as "undergoing a change of ownership " , then the CRW will have been sent to the previous owner.
You can request a replacement online at cvrt.ie, just be sure the van is registered to you beforehand.

tax could not be up yesterday. Runs to the end of the month. If it's in your name, you can tax it online.

Dealer should have passed the CVRT disc on to you.

    OK thanks.

Got the insurance disk, after some hassle.

Still no logbook. Is 3 weeks normal?

I have to get this first before they'll send the replacement cvrt or I can tax it.
I can't tax online because it's a van and first time taxing a new van can't be done online.

    https://www.motortax.ie/OMT/changeOwnership.do

Stick the reg number in there and submit. That will confirm if the dealer has processed the change of ownership yet.

If it isn't saying there has been a change of ownership in the last 3 months then you need to hassle the dealer to get it done.
