I think my cat is addicted to nicotine

I reckon my cat has become addicted to nicotine. He generally resides just behind me, on the back of the sofa and would have been exposed to my smoke, and more lately my vape. Recently he has started jumping into my lap as soon as I get the vape out. He sits up in its airflow and squints his eyes like he's enjoying it. He's also very quick to jump onto my lap and breathe in the smoke when I have a spliff. I'm not sure if that's just the tobacco, or if he now is also fond of weed! I think the weed is affecting him. He's getting the munchies. Crying for his fourth meal of the day.

Please take your cat to the vet to check his lungs and heart are in good shape, in case inhaling your second hand smoke has been physically impacting him.

Maybe try to keep him in another room while you're smoking so he can readjust, whether the issue is an addiction or just behavioural. Take care

How many MG's is the nicotine you are vaping?

May start dropping if you are concerned!

Get him some catnip, mine love it! They're out of their bin here most of the time on the stuff ;)

My cats don't mind me vaping, but I'll always avoid blowing it directly at them. They're crazy enough without nicotine withdrawal when I'm in work :D

Try weaning the kitty off with nicotine patches.

Poor cat, I feel sorry for it, being the butt of all these jokes.

I can't afford to check if my heart and lungs are in good condition. The cat is fine.

theres few docus on netflix on drugs, and in few ive seen dogs addicted to weed, nic could be the same on pets, if bugger likes it then why not, otherwise just go outside or leave pet closed outside, problem sorted.

You could try a trick my father used on me. Lock him in a cupboard
with a thousand smokes and tell him he won't get out till he's smoked
every last one. He'll be turned off em then.
