iPhone Contacts names not showing, only numbers...

    Seems this has been happening to some people since a recent update.

    I just noticed that random Contacts in my Message timeline were only showing as numbers, not as names.

    A quick Google suggested that I wasn’t the only one.

    I tried the most popular fix.

    Settings > Apple ID > iCloud and turn off Contacts (choose the option to keep your contacts on your phone when prompted) and reboot phone.

    All the names were back in my Messages timeline.

    I then switched on iCloud Contacts again and rebooted the phone, and they were still there.

    All seems ok now.
