    Hi all,
I'm looking for some recommendations on a hotel with kids waterslides. Our kids are young so it doesn't have to be huge slides. We stayed in the Alfagar Alto da Colina resort in the Algarve last year and the kids absolutely loved it but I would like to go somewhere that will be a bit warmer in early May, so I'm thinking the Costa del sol. Have been looking at Globales los patos park and also Roc Costa hotel in Benalmadena but the reviews are mixed. Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I would advise you to stay away from Los Patos Park, we had a very poor experience and we would not return if it was free.

Would Alfagar Alto da Colina be good for kids age 5 and 7 food etc?

Not sure how old your kids are but the pueblo Indalo in Mojacar has built an amazing splash park with small sides. Great complex. Direct flights from Dublin to almeria and a transfer company exclusive shuttle will drop you to the door

Thank you all for your suggestions, much appreciated. Was looking into the Canaries and flights are so limited now as not many going from Knock or Belfast. Would prefer to stay away from Dublin.
Thank you for post on Los patos Park, will avoid! Our kids 10 and under loved the Colina. The splash park and waterslides are a big attraction. The entertainment was okay, but we were there mid June. They had the usual singers, parrots shows and kareoke. During the day the kids club guys would go around the pool area and have dance competitions or water polo which people enjoyed. We didn't use the kids club, we intended to but the kids were having such a good time in the pool and playground, they didn't need to go. I think it's 4 euro per session though that can be a bit off-putting. We didn't go all inclusive but had dinner and breakfast there from buffet one day and it was lovely, couldn't fault it. The only thing against it that we had, it is far from Albuferia. We were spending a lot of money on taxis to old town. But other than that, we would def go back. In fact, we would go back this year if the weather in Portugal early May was a safe bet.

Dunreill in Holland has the most amazing indoor and outdoor water park... yes, weather isn't guaranteed but my kids still say this was their best holiday and speak about it many years on. The dungalows are great accommodation, and a theme park onsite as added bonus. All included in price. Park feels v safe, beach nearby.

Hi we also stayed in Colina last May weather was nice but a few cold days. As OP said it is a bit far out but the hotel did have a bus running twice a day that brings you to old town its 2 euro per person it leaves the hotel at 10.30 and 2.30 if you get the 10.30 bus to town you can get picked up and brought back to the hotel by the same bus at 3 but if you get the 2.30 bus to old town you have to make your own way back. There wasn't an all inclusive option when we booked (that might be because we booked through booking.com) but there is an italian restaurant in their sister hotel which is only a short walk over a bridge and down some steps, we ate there most nights because the food was so good the kids loved the pizza and pasta. The restaurant in the Colina was also very popular there is also a Mexican restaurant on the strip which is also really nice but at about 8 the strip starts getting a bit crazy. My kids are ridiculously picky eaters but loved both restaurants. They were 4 and 10 they both loved it the 10 year old loved the water slides the 4 year old wasn't so brave but loved the pool and splash area there is also a games room we went to every night and then of course there was the hotel entertainment everynight. We all really enjoyed
It kids really want to go back again this year.

Dunreill is definately on the list for maybe next year. I'm pregnant now so would love to go at a time when I'm not. It does looks brilliant though for all ages.

Have you looked at Globales Playa Estepona I've not been myself but a friend was there last June and loved it her kids were 3, 7 and 10. She said they had an absolute ball.

Ah Ginger83 really sorry I'm only spotting this now. I imagine it would be suitable but best to check. Lots of vids online of park, really well maintained, can't recall any steps and paths were wide and everyone cycled everywhere. Food was medicorce, pizza pasta etc. Supermarket nearby and some really nice resturants in nearby town.
