I have a Toshiba satellite c660 laptop. just now the letter S has stopped working. Is there any way this can be fixed or is it likely to be an electronic problem. I have restarted the laptop but made no difference. The laptop is 9 years old but I never felt the need for a new one as it's updated and not slow. At least im thankful there is no s in the password lol

could be a mechanical (key mechanism) or an electronic issue.

google the model and key replacement on youtube.

you could find out if it's mechanical or not if you swap the bad key with one that is working of the same size.

if it's electronic you have to replace the whole keyboard.

Most likely the remnants of your breakfast - a teeny crumb of something or a bit of fluff. The Toshiba keys will ping off ok but they have two bits to them and you have to be careful not to lose the bit off the back. Quick possible solution is compressed air under it if you have some. Or tear off a bit of copy paper and slide it under the key to see if you can hook out whatever is in there.
