Looking for recommendations for Halkidiki in May this year. Haven’t been there before so have no knowledge. Flying in to Thessaloniki and will stay there for a couple of nights before moving on to stay for a week in Halkidiki. Looking to stay in a good hotel in a nice sandy seaside resort for a couple who wish to avail of a bit of luxury after years of doing things on a budget. Any recommendations welcome.

Porto Carras is decent. Beach, upmarket shops, spa - seems to tick a lot of the boxes. Other activities as per the website too, or just hop on the boat into Neos Marmaras for a day trip. The Purple Bar overlooking the sea is a lovely place for an evening drink at sunset. Was there in October 2018 and temps were around 20, so May will be a warmer again. Was there as part of a special event which had the hotel reserved for a week, so not sure what it's like in peak season. Food wasn't great - decent, but not great - but that may have been a factor of the event that had been booked. Nice spot overall though.

Thanks cdeb. Looks like a fairly large resort so might look at something a little smaller.
