What should I do if I missed my jobseekers allowance payment due to illness?

    Hi, I was supposed to collect my jobseekers allowance from the post office today but due to a really bad stomach bug was unable to do so. I'm wondering if it's possible for me to collect it tomorrow, I've seen online that there's a 3 day window but I'm not sure if that's still the case? Or should I just get onto intro and let them know what happened? Thanks in advance.

    They normally keep it for 3 days.

    You will need to notify the dole office that you were sick, as this renders you unfit to look for, or take up work.

    You do not need to notify social that you had a stomach bug!

    You only need to inform them of an illness if it is long term and stops you searching for work, a 1 or 2 day illness doesnt stop you looking for employment

    Go and collect it tomorrow.

    I don't see why you would have to notify the dole office (as mentioned above), people can still search and apply for jobs online. (healthy or unwell).

    Go to the post office tomorrow and collect your Jobseeker's Allowance, it will still be there. There is no need to inform social welfare that you were sick today.
