We have just moved into a new property and the electrical sockets within the living room are not located great for the layout we want. Can someone let me know what an approximate cost may be for an electrician to add an additional double socket within the room. Many thanks in adavance

Anything from €100 upwards depending on how difficult it is (what the walls are made of, how long the cable run) and how long it will take.

It'll be a lot more than 100 euro if the walls are finished.

That depends. Maybe the walls are partition and a new socket is required back to back with an existing. As the information is so limited we just don’t know. Depending on so many factors an additional socket could cost as much as €900

Thanks for the replies and sorry for the lack of information. The walls are finished in the home and are concrete. The run from the existing socket to the position of the new one is approx 1.5m.

In that case I think your wiring will be going through plastic conduits in the concrete, so adding sockets where there is not already wiring will be difficult and probably expensive.

Get an electrician to come out and have a look.
