Just looking for a cheap tour operator for a family trip to anywhere in europe for a sun holiday anytime in june ,july or august.
Was on loveholidays.ie and they were cheap enough, are there a few more out there or maybe booking.com.

When I was looking up holidays late last year love holidays were fairly reasonable, alpha rooms and travel Republic were good too.

We've booked with Tui loads before but found their prices shockingly high this year and the flight times awful.

Instead we've booked direct with aerlingus over and Ryanair back- flight times worked out better this way and actually cheaper than booking with one airline for the whole trip. And booked direct with the hotel.
We're paying €2800 (flights and hotel) for 2 adults 2 kids all inclusive for 2 weeks, the same hotel was quoted 5500 on Tui. We went there last year, yet again booking direct and loved it.

2800 seems incredibly cheap for all-inclusive for 4 people. May I ask when it is for and what hotel it is...seems like a great deal.

I got 1900 for 4 in gran canaria in march .AI + water park. Flying Art Lingus.

Booked everything separately. Hotels.com let me pay for the hotel on arrival.

1900 is fine for March but June, July or August will cost a lot more. I'm guessing the 2800 above for 4 is also out of high season.
Booking seperately is definitely the way to go these days.

Agree, book it all yourself, we booked our flights in December for travel in late June/early July & also late September for Gran Canaria & Fuerteventura, I think Half board & AI in the Canaries is good value for money generally speaking, I usually book direct with the hotel & pay on arrival,
Our flights when booked in December were a good bit cheaper than the prices in the current 'sales'

Trip advisor is good for narrowing down your hotel choices, read the reviews to get an idea of what the place is like, food quality etc & the Q&A's but always book direct with the hotel, many allow no pre payment & free cancellation

Just to add, could have got a standard room in the RIU Palace Meloneras 5* for 9 nights for 2k June 23 - July 2 for 3 half board but paid more for a superior room, also found Tui very expensive, always get more bang for my buck doing it myself

Going to lanzarote late June/early July , it's the sol Hotel. The hotel was €1950 when I originally booked in September but I checked the price again during black Friday and the price had gone down by FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY Euro!! :):) so I was luckily able to cancel the old hotel booking and make a new one.

The sol uses the Melia app, which often has discounts and you can build up points.

You have to really keep an eye on stuff over a few weeks to get a good deal. I love the whole booking and checking reviews on places process. Most people wouldn't have the patience.

Not sure on the cheapest but I had a quick shmooze yesterday out of interest and noticed that a package (Playa Blanca, Flamingo iirc, early Sept) on TUI that I liked the look of last year is now £600 more expensive - although now that I think back, I'm sure there was a kids go free promo back then. They appear to be making the most of Thomas Cooks demise.

Most of the larger hotel operators will offer a discount with them if you book direct through their website. For example Melia Hotels, that I often stay with, have a rewards system. Join, and you immediately receive a discount off their stays. You also receive a €10 voucher to spend per day in most of their hotels.
If you look for a Melia Hotel or similar on Booking.com, you will find them buried way down their list of hotels.

This applies to Sercotel Hotels, Accor Hotels (Ibis, Mercure, Novotel). Best Western, Barcelo.

My advice is to browse these websites. Have a look at their offers for joining. Choose an airport that you want to fly in to and then choose a holiday resort nearby with one of these hotels listed.

I just saved 140 e by looking at the hotel website. The price wasn't available when I was looking originally so I cancelled my booking with hotel.com.
It was cheaper and had more extras

A lot of hotels had arrangements with Thomas Cook who have now gone in to receivership. These hotels are now scrambling to look for an alternative travel company to do business with. They have also woken up to the fact that they can sell direct to the public themselves instead of block booking rooms with Thomas Cook.
As a result I would suggest that when booking a hotel always check with the hotel direct.

We booked all inclusive tagoro family and fun hotel in tenerife last year directly through dreamplacehotels.com
Its about half price compared to booking.com or other booking agents. This year we'll go to their lanzarote hotel. We booked flights separately.
Have a look at their site.
    Good luck
