Economics Marking?

Does anyone know how the explanations in those “State and Explain” or “Discuss” questions are actually marked? I’ve tried to ask some people and some say that you get either all of the 3 or 4 marks going for the explanation or none while others say that it’s 1 mark for a poor development, 2 marks, 3 marks and so on. The latter seems exceptionally harsh as it demands them to be full of current figures in every answer and lots of detail. Due to the fact that one has only 2 minutes to write each point, it isn’t really feasible to be writing that much.

So does anyone know what happens? Surely there’s some standardisation involved.
