Flying over Iran

Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this or am I overthinking things!

Due to be going on a short trip to Oman later this month, and I’ve noticed that my flight will be using Iranian airspace. I’ll be flying with Oman Air, and unlike some other airlines, they have not rerouted their flights to avoid that area.

Given recent events I’m wondering should I be looking at booking a different flight?!

    You are over thinking it.

I flew over Iraq about 12 years ago during the night. Cool to see the oil rigs with flames and US military bases lit up in a green night vision type hue.

I believe European airlines were advised not to fly over if necessary and those that had no choice to a higher altitudes

Plenty of flights still going over Iran and Iraq. Booking a flight today myself that will go that way as well.

Eh dont do it. There was a story a few weeks ago of the iranians "inadvertantly" shooting down a jet.
