    Im currently on Job Path. Have a meeting again this week with them. I hurt my back over the Christmas and have a bulging disc in my back.. I can barely walk never mind hold myself up straight.. Will Job Path push me to go on the sick benifits if I cant work..

    just bring your doctors note with you and explain that you are unavailable for work and they will be able to tell you what form of social welfare you should be claiming.

    If you are not available for work you shouldn't be on jobseekers so Joppath should be of no concern to you

    Its just Im claiming for my partner and my two kids and taught if I had to claim the sick my payment might be stopped and then be waiting for sick benifits to come through.. Struggling enought as is after the xmas just dont want to be leaft with out a payment. Plus my back might be ok again in a week or two.

    You need to apply for illness benefit for your family and even if you haven’t enough PRSI to get it you will get SWA while your waiting to get better.
    Apply for illness benefit and make an appointment to see the CWO to get SWA.

    Thanks for your reply. I will be staying away from CWO. My local one is a complete an utter i wont say what.. Complete rude and doesnt want to see you coming.. Thinks your relatives should be able to provide for yea if your in any bother.. No problem handing out checks to any foreign nationals...

    and probably free houses and everything else .. sure I saw the foreigner one day with a buggy at the bus stop and there wasn't space for it on the bus - she left it behind as she said she will get another free one at the social welfare office :rolleyes:

    With that attitude i can see why they love to see you at the welfare office
