Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hello, if I am working as a Contractor (not a farmer but work in an office but not a direct employee of that company) and travel to and from work using a specific diesel vehicle (have a seperate vehicle for personal use) is it possible that I can claim back all the diesel expenses or can I even claim back the Vat. Can I claim back maintenance costs for this vehicle?

    Cheers

Can you explain what you mean by contractor?

Are you being paid through payroll by the company or are you invoicing them?

No, you can't claim expenses for travelling to your normal place of work. If you also have business related driving, you can claim the business use percentage of maintenance costs.

Need a little more information to answer that one.
Are you self employed or a director of a company and invoicing the company directly?
If you are either of the above, are you registered for VAT?

    Hey,

As a company director you are allowed to claim expenses. However these are only allowable for directors who are employed by the business.

Traveling to and from work would not be allowable, but travelling from your normal place of work to another location for business purpose is.

Here is the link on the Revenue website which will expalin it better.
