Why do women smile more than men?

I know it's not sexual attraction as I'm ugly as a fish, probably politeness.

I heard an sociologist say women are nurtured from a young age unconsciously to smile at strangers as it makes them more agreeable and pleasant to be around. There's also the nature argument that women have more emotional limbic systems than men under MRI scans.

In fact smiling is seen as too feminine in men and women found neutral faces more attractive than smiling faces.

Why did you start a thread with a question and then give the answer in the 2nd paragraph?

I do my best to bring the average down. I've got resting thundering cnut face.

They are happier, because as we all know, women have a much much easier life than us men.
    End of story.

Probably to stop gobshítes from saying "Cheer up love, it might never happen", or "you'd be pretty if you smiled".

I doubt men have those phrases thrown at them too often, for women it happens all the time.

It's more that married men don't smile as much as either single men or any women. Science has yet to determine why.

I honestly don't think I've ever noticed either gender smiling more.

Feel ya, when I'm ready my husband always asks me why I look like I'm about to murder the next individual crossing my path. After years of explaining he still doesn't get that it's just my face.

They're not smiling , it's a well known fact that they are keeping in farts.
Most wait till they are home and release the equivalent of a special forces grenade with a smell.

As a woman who is naturally a non-smiler, I think women just learn to smile more, as people just don’t like it when women don’t smile. And it’s not just men, other women don’t like it either for whatever reason I don’t know.
It’s only seems to be men who say stuff like “cheer up love” etc, (usually absolute strangers...like why do you care if I smile?)
But women have said things to me like, “you have a beautiful smile, you should smile more”...like how condescending, they would never say the same to a man.

Anyone who's said that to me (all men and all strangers ) have been told a few home truths.

Friction in their pants could be one answer. A woman may move her legs very gently, or in fact, if she is on a bus, if she keeps her legs together, the vibrations from the peaks and troughs in the road (the topography) may titillate her.

Tbf to kasper :/, when I was on holiday one year as a teenager, there was a random woman sitting on the speakers in the disco bar and she told us that she was sitting there because...... anyway so we just left her to it :pac:

It does we smile way more than Irish men. All women do.

If you stopped painting yourself into corners all the time you might notice that your powers of observation will improve. Even so, you still won’t be able to make these sweeping generalisations and silly claims with any credibility.

It could simply be that no men smile at you for fear you’ll expect them to seduce you with a french accent, while the women who smile are just bemused by your sexist nonsense.

I thought studies have showed that married men are happier and healthier on average than their single counterparts and the opposite is true for women.

Life is hard for a.lot of people.
    Many people are worrying about
    1. mental health issues
    2. Social anxieties
    3. Physical abilities

So when I am out and about I smile at people all the time
    1. It's good for me
    2. It might make a difference to them
    3. A few times it has actually made a difference to both of us.
