    Hi good morning.

I'm 30yo and wondering what's the best way in to the nursing degree?

I was looking at re sitting my Leaving Cert as the mature entry is v hard like a lottery and same with the Fetac course? Anyone any experience please?? Thanks

If you can get more than the points required in your Leaving, that would be the most sure way of getting a place. As you say, both FETAC and Mature entry routes not everyone who qualifies gets in.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I'd be working full time so would be studying myself in the evenings as I've a child but would hope to sit it in 2021 and would give me 17 months to study.

There are night classes for LC subjects in many ETBs that might help.

I would pick the mature entry over the re sitting of leaving cert. I applied for mature midwifery and was offered my first choice even though I had practically failed my leaving cert in the 90's.
You probably didn't apply for this year's selection so no harm using the year to do the leaving cert subjects needed.
Definitely focus on the science/biology if you can as these are big part of the degree.
