Are you in Limerick? I don't know anything about them but they are there a while at this stage.

I am from Limerick but live in Galway. I recently went to see a car here https://www.carsireland.ie/detail.php?ad_id=2437354&r=s.php%3Fm%5B%5D%3D63%26o%5B%5D%3D871%26nx%3D8%26t%3D2%26yn%3D2017%26g%3D0 and have put a deposit on it to keep it before fully in.

I saw this same model but newer in Rhino https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/opel-corsa-2017-172-automatic/23599378.

The first is from a well known dealer with good rep here. I need a automatic and this will be my first car so not too sure which to go for :o

They’re both ex rentals either way.
Are you sure you want a Corsa, that model is out 14 years now.

They seem the best for price for around that year and automatic. The first one is a leased car I was told and only had one person. Would something like a Japanese import like Mazda Demio be better as being looking at them too but heard they harder to insure and may have hidden history.

Leased means a company leased it and used it. The Corsa automatic is a rental car driven badly by Americans to the Cliffs of Moher and the Blarney Stone.

Garages use terms like lease car, fleet car etc to describe ex rental cars.

It will have had a hard life, and will have been damaged and repaired. That, along with the fact that they’re not a popular car anymore is why they’re cheap.

What sort of usage will you have for this car? Long trips/city driving etc?

Might have a change of mind so, be bits of town and motorway I'd be using it for. Around 450km a week I'd say. It is hard enough to get a automatic around this price range that looks decent enough and is lower then 1.6 with low road tax though sadly.

Choice cars in Dublin have many Japanese imports but not sure if I'd feel comfortable getting one.

    Cheers for the guidance/information :)

The garage you first linked is in business donkeys years, nearer you to begin with and more likely, in my opinion, to help out if something goes wrong. I know which one I would buy between them.

Worked for a rental company who had a lot of those auto corsa’s. The auto boxes would often give trouble, even left myself stranded one day! IMO they were definitely the most unreliable automatic across the whole fleet.

There were issues with the windscreen wiper linkages going bad also. Plus they were always damaged every so often due to the market that rented them during the summer.

Horrible jerky gearbox too IMO, just my thoughts!
