    Hi,
Just looking for information or experience please. Recently long term 10 yrs+ relationship ended.
Have a toddler & 2nd on way. I have been advised to go apply for lone parents, which is difficult enough emotionally but im wondering will that affect both of us? As in, after i apply, will ex be cut off and reassessed? Or am i & child simply removed from his claim?
We have endedthings but amicably- he has no savings so i just dont want to see him struggle.
I know it might take a while to set me up.

Then, how does accommodation work? Amywhere locally is 1000€ at least but from what ive seen the cap is less than 600, so what happens there? Am i to try find the rest?
Im actually lost and this new reality is scary, i do have a few hours work which im happy to declare but its only about 160€ weekly so that wont be much help unless i can find more after baby arrives.
    Hope ive been clear. Thanks

Are you still living together? I’m assuming your ex is on JSA?

No, i have moved out with baby. Staying in relatives spare room which isnt ideal especially with mewborn arriving soon. We were living in ex’s house (inheritance a few years ago).
Im just unsure how this works. Suitable houses are double the rent cap and while i have secured work, its not enpugh hours and wont be likely to increase til after Sept.
Im nervous. Never saw this happening.
