Carers Allowance, Disability Allowance, full or half rate

Hi, I'm currently in receipt of disability allowance, my missus works and I look after our son, because of my partners work my disability has recently been cut, I'm not actually getting any personal rate, just €12.70 for an adult dependant, plus full child dependent money, but that's for my son, not for me to spend, I've actually sent in more information to the disability section just to get it reviewed.

My question is, if my disability payment stays as is, would I get full of half rate carers?

I understand people on a SW payment get half rate and keep their full SW payment. But would my case differ?

I presume I will receive half rate.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Is your wife’s weekly gross wage much more than €665?
If it isn’t much more then you would be nearly better off giving up the DA and going for full Carers.

Thank you for the reply splinter65, She actually doesn't even earn €665, it kinda fluctuates between 500 and 600,that's why I sent in more documents to get my DA reviewed again, so if I stopped my own DA I could be entitled to full carers?

    Hi
If your wife has income of an average week of wages of around €550 gross then you would have a DA payment of €80 but you don’t seem to have that so there must be some more income ?
If as a couple Ye have less then €665 gross from all sources then you would get €219 Carers so it’s pretty much up to you.

No there is no other source of income, would that €80 include the child dependent and fuel allowance?

I'm getting the gist now, I'll be happy with any money to help honestly, if it's half rate that comes through I'll be delighted, I was just curious does how much SW payment you receive also determine if your entitled to full or half rate, but it seems it's focused on the couples €665.
