Has anyone ever used the likes of Intrepid Travel / FlashPack etc?

I have a few weeks off in April and would love to do something different.

No idea where to start though.

Can people post their experiences, where they went etc, level of activity, who they went with, type of people in group?

I’m early - mid 30s - open to most suggestions!

    Thanks

Gadventures - tour of China a few years ago. Small group maybe 15, ages 20-40. Highly recommend Gadventures. Family members and friends have also done tours with them and have booked other tours with the company. No one has ever had any bad experience with the group but it could be down to luck! Take a look at their website. Saying that I wouldn't do a tour again because (1) it's significantly more expensive, (2) the feeling of being rushed which I hate. I like to take my time on holidays. (3) tour members being late and the general waiting around for them to showup for planned activities. (4) stuck with people you may not like. (5) added expense of having to give tips over and over. (6) experience depends on the tour guide too. For my subsequent trips to Asia I planned and travelled alone so it was like I needed to join a tour first to give me some confidence. Also if you decide not to join a group you can always join day trips etc. Overall I find gadventures perfect if you don't have time for planning or if you prefer to have everything booked for you. They have some nice tours so worth looking at the website.

If you take a look at Nadia daily self on Instagram, she went on a few group trips last year to South America and Petra. Might be a useful way to get started researching.

Ive lots of experience of Group Tours / Solo Tours.

I've done Vietnam and Thailand with Intrepid and I've done numerous tours with Exodus and Explore including Jordan.

Exodus and in particular Explore tend to be more expensive and older than Intrepid but there are specific Exodus ones now for 30's and 40"s, but I just go on the standard ones.

I'd have no problem recommending any, depending on where you want to go, some companies are better than others, for example, Intrepid are good for Asia.

Do NOT under any circumstances consider going with Flash Pack.

In Ireland, you have Travel Department, both more coach trip style and bigger groups.

If you are booking with Explore or Exodus, book through the UK website and pay in Stg. The Euro conversions are a RIP off.

What are your interests, how active are you? How independent are you?

    Any other questions, just ask.
