I'm just wondering what kind of permanent long term accomodation is offered to single people/couples that have been on the housing waiting list? I'm not talking about hap or rent supplement I'm talking about permanent long term accomodation like the 3 bedroom houses that families are usually offered in council housing estates. Are there apartments that are built/acquired by local authorities that are then used for people on the housing lists?

One bed property if your single

Two bed if you one child or two of the same sex .

Your housed on need , a single person doesn't get offered a 3/4 bed house

Are there any figures out there which state how many 1 bedroom / 2 bedroom etc properties are owned by each local authority?

I'd imagine the waiting lists are much longer for single/couple without kids because one bed properties are lower on the local authority's priorities as they're unsuitable for children, and the ones they do have are probably reserved for the elderly.

In general, singletons/couples are on HAP permanently or in housing association properties like Cluid.
Housing lists for single people can be 15+ years
