Thinking about spending abot 10 or 12 days between Paros and Santorini in mid May / June this year.

Any recommendations on how to do this?

fly into santorini then ferry to paros ? then fly back via athens (or paros> athens ferry)

actually i dont think there are any direct flights from dublin to santorini

or you may have to fly to athens then onto santorini on the way out - or ferry athens to santorini

did athens > santorini > naxos > athens last summer flew dublin >athens then ferry round the islands

    Yea I'd do DUB > ATH > PAS(Paros) > Ferry to Santorini 2 hours €32
JTR Santorini to ATH > DUB.

All depends on your schedule, you could fly into Athens, spend 1 night, go see the Acropolis if you've never been, and the next day get the ferry to Paros, takes about 3 hours or so.
Or go have lunch in Athens airport and hop a flight to Paros.

Santorini is very small so it's possible to see pretty much everything in 2 whole days.

So you may even take some time to ferry hop to a couple more islands if you decide to catch the ferry back to Athens instead of a flight... ferry costs are anywhere from €20 to 50. Usually morning, afternoon and evening ferries so lots of options.

I love using the ferries in Greece - there's nothing like it. However, do allow for some wriggle room. There have been ferry delays - due to a strike or to a storm - in every single holiday that I've taken in Greece. So allow 24 hours to get back to Athens (if you're flying from there) just in case. It's a lovely time of the year in Greece and you won't need to book your travel arrangements in advance - there'll be plenty of room on the boats.

You can't go on desk in the high speed ferries and than can sometimes make you feel seasick. I prefer the larger, slower boats - but that's just me.

There's a website called Ferryhopper that you might find useful - but apart from your fist and last journey, I'd hold off on booking journeys in advance and just go with the flow.

We flew Dub to Athens (Aerlingus) and then Athens to Paros (Aegean Air). You could then get a Blue Star ferry to Santorini (about 3 hour journey). The Blue star sailing from Athens to Santorini is about 8 hours.

An alternative could be flying to Dublin to Crete (Ryanair) and getting a ferry to Santorni (2 1/2 hours).

If time is an issue, FLY!

Athens to Paros is 5 hours cost is 34ish euro one way. Loads of ferries. Cost in business on the ferry is 48euro. Flying takes 35 minutes and costs 50euro.

Ferry to Santorini goes via Naxos one hour then a further 3 hours (i think)

Paros is fine a little boring, but great if you want to just do nothing. Santorini is packed most of the time, an absolute must see. Why not go to Naxos for a few days also?

    5/08/ 2019 all proces for 2 people
    athens to santorini €99.40

    santorini to naxos 76.40

    naxos to athens 97.40

the last 2 were silver class (or something) as the cheaper seats had gone

Christ the prices for seats have gone up on Blue Star..... It is cheaper to fly if that is the case!!!

just priced mid-may and it is 74.60 for a business class ticket online... I normally only ever paid 49 euro for these.... (prefer the service and the fact you can have something to eat in comfort and normally get a couch for yourself) (despite the Greeks shouting down their phones while watching crap Greek Soaps on the TV's)...;)
