Just wanted to post an appreciation of the team that looks after the site here. Beasty is one of the most active Admins and keeps us all safe and sound and does it for free! Feel free to post stories, tributes and admiration here.

Thank you Beasty for making boards what it is. A growing and thriving community united in spirit.

    You're welcome.

There are actually really only about 20 regular contributors to After Hours PM. We all have multiple accounts each. I myself was Autecher but closed that account recently. Right now I am Guy Person, whatcanidonow, Persepoly, Beasty and mr_fegelien.

    Wonderful piece of sarcasm op

Not sarcasm at all. One only need to read dispute resolution and prison forums to see the Trojan work Beasty and others do.

As he’s pointed out himself, he’s feeding kids with one hand and issuing cards with another. The dedication is immense

It's an unpaid job. If I were to ask you to come work for me but not a single cent would be given, you would say "do you think I'm an idiot?" :pac:

I was only annoyed that the banlist was removed from public. The prison forum was a great read too.

The sweaty smell is because Beasty is a boards prison warden!

I've known Beasty through boards and have met him a few times in the past. He is a true gentleman. He has helped many boardsies in real life also, he has also been generous assisting various charitable causes here on boards, including one I was collecting for a number of years ago. Beasty certainly deserves this appreciation thread. Also, united are going through a bad spell, and he could do with the cheering up. Thank you Beasty.

All in all a class act.

United's bad spell has cheered me up no end lately. The fact that it makes Beasty miserable is just the icing on the cake. :D

Beasty is a noble warrior. He has the unseemly task of having to deal with a most malicious pest: the serial re-reg. In the trenches daily keeping the enemy at bay; for that I can only applaud the man.

Respect to Rashers, the master of subtle take-downs. Approaching the Mod like a charming anaconda, Beasty thinks he's getting an awkward embarrassing hug, while the tail gently constricts around his neck.

You do know that AH mods have been told to make up new usernames and threads to spice things up, right?

Mr Fieglein is a fine example of making one up.

A R&R access request process could be applied for propecting apt pupils.

A reward system could be offered for good sycophant forum contributors in the following form:

They can report any post of a regular boards poster without having to give a reason for reporting, and the victim gets an automatic yellow card each time.

I’ve a lot of time for the dude. I was being accused of having multiple accounts on this site a while back, and could feel the old virtual sword of Damocles hanging over me - despite being an innocent man.

Exchanged a few messages, no bullshït from either side, issue sorted, even shared a joke at the end.

You’d normally associate moderators etc on this site with overweight neckbeards, but Beasty strikes me as a man who has no problem bedding huge amounts of women.

Also maybe a Triple-Thanks reward, so when they log in with their other accounts and thank their own post it counts as 3 each time!

Only know Beasty from here, and he was very supportive when I was a mod. I like him, he's a good egg. (though I think I'm probably diametrically opposed to his politics)

I don't know the man, only heard the name and rumours. Some say that he appears on high value stamps in Sweden, and that he can catch fish with his tongue.

They enjoy it. They have time. They like boards.ie and they like being online usually.

They may know a bit about what topic they mod.

Yeah, the specific forums usually have people who like the subject. Soccer mods all like soccer etc. Motivation for AH or Current affairs etc is less clear imo, but admirable. I'd say most just like boards as an entity and like to see it running well.

I still think they are naive to give so much time to doing it. But they obv enjoy it so i guess for that reason they are not exploited.
I wouldn't ever do it. Not that i would be asked. Lol i never do anything for free!

I had a read there of the Prison forum - it's entertaining to look at every once and a while - those of you who maintain that mods and admins never admit error will be able to see evidence to the contrary easily enough. Though it must be said error was admitted in a recent thread, but only after first being denied quite matter of factly and with an air of dismissiveness.

Some man to give a dispute the runaround. They’re frustratingly entertaining reading though.

Its the apparent omnipresence which is truely remarkable - you never know though when he is going to show up to kick pants :pac:

    Beasty take a bow ...

Ps I preferred previous avatar of John Bercow than the present one. I dunno - that's exactly how I imagine Beasty would keep things in order order!
