We are a couple in mid-50's and so am looking to travel from the airport to WHERE??

I have been told of San Juan ?? Just 20 mins from airport ?? any other suggestions...

Hope some one can help with recommendations etc...

Denia or javea, about an hour North.

Have a look at Altea. We have booked again for next October. You get the bus from the airport to Benidorm bus station then hop on the narrow gauge train for the onward trip to Altea.
When he Altea you can visit, Calpe, Denia even Benidorm if so inclined. Using either bus or train. There is also a lovely walk to Albir.

We normally rent an apartment. There are a couple of great supermarkets, a modern seafront (where we stay) and immediately behind the seafront a beautiful old white town.

    Anyone been to Moraira?
    What’s that like?

    Santa Pola.
    It's 15-20mins in a car.
    Long sandy beaches.

Torrevieja/La Mata €70 in taxi. Working city with Beach resorts and lively

Further South of Torrevieja is Playa Flamenca/Cabo Roig/Villa Martin/La Zenia all touristy resorts with Cabo Roig on coast and rest 10-20min inland

Further south again Los Alcazares/Los Narejos, slightly quieter and more mature with golf very popular (Closest airport RMU (Murcia International) check ryanair prices, taxi from airport €30

If you can do the job, do it. If you can't do the job, just teach it. If you really suck at it, just become a union executive or politician.

Would recommend Calpe. About 50 mins from airport you can get a bus or a transfer, or rent a car. I have been there many times and its a really nice place with lots of culture, and tourists from all over Europe

Town of about 20 k people with beautiful views and the famous Rock Ifach. You can get daytrips to Altea, Denia, etc from the train up in the mountains!

I would not recommend Cabo Roig as it's like Magaluf, just one big road of nightclubs and restaurants with two beaches either side!

For budget accomodation Turquesa Beach is very cheap and basic, but clean and safe. Or Rubino is quite nice too.

For 4/5 star accomodation Bahia Hotel is right in the centre of the middle of old/new town, or Sol y Mar which is really fancy

Playa San Juan is part of Alicante city but it's the best part and you wouldn't know you're in a city. Stunning beach with good vibes and great views. El campello isup the road from it and is nice too
