Fair play to McCuddy's, including the cost of the VRT in the sales price!

I know, spotted that. Some people might think that they're getting a good deal because of it!

Are they the crowd that had a previously crashed white Leaf for sale, but never mentioned it in the ad?

From February UK imports will be due for VAT and Duty too IIRC. I wonder if that's included in the price??

    I dont think so.

If Boris gets his Brexit bill passed (most likely he will) by Jan 31st then its business as usual until the end of the year (i.e. the transition period in the withdrawal agreement).

On 1 Jan 2021 they will either have a deal made with the EU or not and thats when you have to start worrying about extra VAT and customs on imports.

I was reading something yesterday that said cars would be due VAT and duty from Feb 1st, but can't find it at the moment.

It was probably the text on our revenue site?

They were speaking in general terms about a no-deal brexit. If the withdrawal agreement that Boris has doesnt pass then you have an immediate no-deal brexit on 1 Feb 2020, with no transition period and then WTO tariffs would become effective immediately.

If he gets the withdrawal agreement passed (very likely now with his majority) the transition period is then agreed in law between the EU and UK and so nothing changes until 1 Jan 2021. So, in effect the UK will stay in the single market and customs union until Dec 31 2020.

I'll be looking to buy a car in the next few weeks so I've no concern about Brexit and it's potential impact.

Looking to get the thread back on track, would people have concerns over an ex-company leaf?

No more than an ICE equivalent. You'd have the same issues really around suspension wear etc but if the mileage is low then the EV is a safer buy as the "engine" is much less likely to develop issues.

They are too expensive, quick look at UK and there's a 2017 Acenta L30 asking £11k

Is that the grey one on auto trader?

If it is, I see a couple of things odd about that car,

If it's a 30 battery, the GOM isn't giving it much milage left with 70% in the pics

    And it's been through 3 mot's already?

You might be on about a totally different car but that one seems somewhat off

My suspicion looking through one of the ads is that they have a link up with someone in the south.

They allude in one of the adds to bring able to sort the VRT for you.

Also that they can do finance to southern customers.

They *could* do both if they have a southern contact but that makes no sense either because why would the Southern contact not simply source Uk cars etc themselves.

    Doesn't add up.

Youd be as well to talk to Phil Fitzgerald at electric Auto and see what he can do for you.

Never dealt with Phil but he seems a better bet to me then some oddball set up in Fermanagh.

Phil seems well regarded in Irish EV land and afaik he can source you a car to your requirements.
