Free sports has removed the channel from sky due to not enough people watching it here

Also it was only available in standard definition with a Sky subscription. Meanwhile in the UK they have Freesports HD completely free but that needs to be tuned into Irish Sky boxes.

I noticed that it's gone. Shame as it had la liga matches on it. Sky could do with taking at least 15 channels off it as I've never watched them and reduce the price of it.

I liked it for the hockey. Not into the football. It was nice to not pay for a sports channel as I haven't got any others other than eurosport

I have read some speculation that they pulled it to use the EPG slot for la liga TV.

It is the most obvious reason for pulling it now, with LaLiga TV launching on Sky on Monday. Makes sense for Premier to make use of an EPG slot they already have. The channel is still available on eir so not gone from ROI altogether either - and of course those who have the hang of the Other Channels/Manual Tuning facility can use that.

It’s probably the obvious reason that coverage of the Leinster Senior Schools Cup has moved from FreeSports to Premier this year.
