Grass growth in January

I am planning on getting a new patio put in my back garden this month and getting drainge, a wall built and the garden levelled at the same time. How long would it take for the grass to grow from seed at this time of year? I know it's not ideal to expect grass to grow much in winter but I would like an idea of what to expect.
    Thanks.

very slow and birds will eat most of it before it germinates.
    wait until March/April

your other option is to buy rolls of ready grown grass and lay that as the patio is done.

its not overly expensive (may 3e a roll in B&Q if available at this time of year)....or ask the installer t do it as part of the job.
