    Hi Guys,

We are looking to upgrade one of our ensuite showers and looking at possibility of getting an electric shower. Currently all the rads and water in the house are run off a gas boiler.

Thinking behind getting electric shower is that there would be no need for the gas boiler to be turned on and hence wait for hot water. However just wondering if:

    This logic is true?
Is it a straight forward job to go from what is a gas run shower to electric?
Will it lead to substantially higher electric bills, or should it be near cost neutral, as Gas bill may reduce?
    Is an electric shower loud?

Is there anything else that needs to be considered or would have an impact?

It's not a straight swap. You will need an electrician to wire from the fuse box to the electric shower.

Electric shower is A energy rated. A 5 / 10 minute electric shower is cheaper than the same time in a pumped shower using water heated by gas. Electric showers don't use a lot of water & you only heat what you use. There is no hot water wastage.

The Triton T90sr & Mira Elite SE are silent showers and make very little noise. If you have a fan in the bathroom it will be louder than the shower. The Triton would be my choice between the two.
