I was caught speeding on the 20th September (82 in a 60, intercept) and I'm still waiting for my ticket to arrive. Is this a normal or have I somehow gotten away with it

And yeah I know I shouldn't have been speeding but I completely lost my temper with the slowcoach in front and it would be my first speeding ticket ever

You'll be getting a summons to court. You'll claim you didn't get the FPN and you'll show this thread to back up that you are telling the truth. Case will be struck out - you'll get no fine or points and all it will cost you is the day off work.

Bit late to get it now. Normally within 2 weeks. Could arrive late who knows. You'll just have to forget about it. Maybe they had just parked up or were about to leave.

The Op mentions 'intercept'. That would usually indicate a stop by the Gardai.....

I received one early October but was caught speeding (intercept 82 at 60) in early September so can be 3 weeks+

Was the licence on the address you gave to the Garda up to date, could it have gone somewhere else?

I think they have a few months to send it? I got mine within about 10 days though!

About 14 months ago I was caught with No NCT. I know i know i am ashamed I had NCT done but failed on emmisions. I had the notice for retest but never booked through pure thoughtlessness. it was out by about 10 weeks
All my details were taken full name, the guard seemed in a foul mood. And said you can expect something in the post. I was freaked out as have never had a penalty point in my life. I actually never received a thing!
Is there a set time limit of how long after an incident that the guards must summon you or is it indefinite:confused:

They have to apply for the summons within 6 months of the offence, I can't find out how long they have to serve it. But a judge got off a serious charge because they didn't serve the summons in time so there is a limit.
