    Hello,

Just checked prices on the exam voucher... almost €1,200 .
How can that be justified only for exam itself !?

Plus the validation fee and the whole process...worth it !?

There's a lot of security exams that are crazy money.
You can claim some of the cost back from the taxman (about 22% as far as I remember) but you have to wait until the following year to claim.

So : do an exam for €1000 in 2020 , on 1st Jan 2021 put in your claim to get back about €220

It's mental money! I am looking at the moment, you can get a package that gives all EC training materials (training videos / books / practice exams / lab access). The cost also includes exam vouchers for the written and practical exams and when completed you recieve the CEH - Master. That's what I am looking at at the moment. I think it's 2k for the lot. Much better value.

    - and get the tax back after as said above.

    Thanks guys. Appreciated.

My plan is to do the Masters in InfoSec in ITB. Anyone did it, any feedback !?
    H E R E

My path to get there was Security+, CEH, CISSP and hopefully I will be accepted for the ITB but the cost of these exams are mad.
I went with self paced / self learning training.
Class based is nicer but working to put the bread on the table, well it just cannot justify it timewise.

    Thanks

You can't. That's only for recognised third level courses.

Depends what you want to do. In my last job 2 students from a MSc Cyber course in a well known Dublin University came in as interns and judging from what they learned (they were very green before doing it) wasn't much.. One was doing their thesis on advanced pentesting tools and had never even heard of Kali....

Personally, I have managed to get to where I am without any degree. I work for a major US company in their Professional Services division and all I have done is certificates.

What experience have you got? Any networking / sys admin stuff? You will need to know about them for CEH, especially having a solid understanding of TCP/IP/. Also, be aware about industry experience requirements for certs like CEH and CISSP (in particular - 5 years, proven experience).

I agree with the costs.. I'm currently getting prices of EC Council for the CEH Master track to get the job to pay for it :D

All the best with working in security, it's an awesome job! :)

Yea, heard that some interns are parallels...but they once hit with real world may manage to wake up.

Can't afford internship, need bread and butter on the table and more than that, paying the fcuking vulture funds for the bricks...

Experience, yes, few decades already in the bag, worried that age may become a huge barrier due to "shadowing" and the non-flexibility.
Or not being a slave to phone&laptop menthality, as compared with youngsters these days.

Nice if you in and get the work to pay for. But then you are commited to them for a long period of time.

    So,long story shorter...assesment in progress.
