Is it possible to add cruise control to a 2017 Ford Galaxy?

If so how much would it cost to do?

Car I’m looking a potentially buying doesn’t have it. It’s a zetec model.

    Thanks

If it's anything like the fiesta you would need to get a steering wheel with the controls from a higher spec model with it(Ghia or Titanium) You would just need it activated then. Scrap yard be best bet for a wheel and just swap airbag over.

I’ve got a fairly basic Galaxy and it came with cruise control and if I’m honest i find at times the fuel consumption is heavier when using it and I certainly wouldn’t shell out for it. In comparison I have a mk5 golf that doesn’t have controls on the steering wheel and I looked at getting it done, i was told it would be easier to get a whole new wiring loom. Each to their own op best of luck with it

For a lot of people (like myself, anyway, can't speak for the OP) if you do a lot of mileage, it would be worth spending a few extra euro on the diesel, for the comfort of having the use of Cruise Control. I know I won't buy a car without it (which is frustrating as many private sellers don't even know if their car has it).

I've spent many a time trawling through Galaxy ads on DoneDeal and Adverts and looking for pictures of the steering wheel to see if it has cruise or not.

I see your point regarding motorway mileage. Do you find it can be heavier using cruise control on the motorway? I’d have thought all modern vehicles would have had it. I’ve never met someone who would insist on a car having it to secure a deal for example. Give any Ford dealer w shout to see out of curiosity would be something to consider for the op. No point taking risks.

Sorry tried to delete this thread but couldn’t. Ultimately the answer is yes it can be added aftermarket without the need to change the steering wheel. A quick YouTube on the topic and sorted.

I don’t know will I or not but a nice option if I do.

It's much easier to buy a vehicle with cc fitted.

p.s. The difference in fuel consumption isn't worth worrying about imho.

If it doesn’t have cruise, it’s probably missing more goodies too. If the cost isn’t too prohibitive it would probably make sense to seek out a higher spec model.

You're playing with fire interfereing with it.

You are asking for some problem to arise. Ford dealer won't want to honour the warranty as they will say the car has been interfered with.

How would the cruise control impact fuel consumption vs using your foot to maintain an even speed?
