    Hi all,

When applying for jobs in the public sector, on the public jobs.ie. The website states that the pdf file must be completed with Adobe V7 .0.5 or higher. (I’ll ad a pic) I’m wondering does everyone else here use this version of Adobe? Or if I use a different PDF software will that cause the file to not work on whatever program is used to public jobs to view the files?

Any advice at all s appreciated!

    Thanks in advance.

It's a bit of a pox, aye. I'm on Ubuntu and the newer versions of Adobe aren't supported, so I used a different version before Christmas. I did get a response though, so obviously their version the far end was able to view my pdf.

That’s good. Maybe what ever PublicJobs use is compatible with other programs. It’s hard to know for sure though.

Why would you put the effort into making an application, only to demonstrate to your potential employer that you are unable to follow instructions and at the same time risk having your application discarded because it can't be processed???

Those applications are usually about 18 pages long as well.

Yawn, that is what virtualisation is for. And in any case the OP did not specify what OS he runs.

And if you are going to live the Ubuntu way, then you are going to have to accept you are living on the fringe. And no I'm not a Windows guy.

Apologies, thought I stated my OS in the original post! It’s windows 10.

I know that - was just giving my example, and saying that in my case the Adobe version wasn't the most up-to-date and it was still fine.

But thank you for your helpful criticism :)
