Anybody recommend a bricks and mortar store around Dublin for buying mid-sized Persian/Arabic-style rugs for a living room? Also, I know these rugs aren't cheap in general, but I would be hoping to not have to remortgage to buy one.

Kashan Carpets in Sandyford is well worth a visit. We had seen a rug we likedn in Arnotts, btu they didn't do it in the size we wanted. We went to Kashan with a pic of it and they were able to design it, get our sign off, and get it made. It took a while but they did an excellent job and the quality is top notch. From memory, they have a huge array of rugs of various designs in their showroom. I have no affiliation with them other than being a Customer.

Rug should really tie the room together.

I would also second Kashan carpets, they have a huge range of great quality carpets/rugs (all the way up to eye-watering).

At the other end of the spectrum, have a look in Ikea - last time I was there they had a massive range of oriental style carpets - I'm sure the quality and authenticty are way down the scale, but if your budget is limited they had some lovely looking ones.

There used be a very deep place across the raod from ‘The Church’ in capel street that always stocked piles of them - down the back of the furniture shop.

Worryingly IKEA also had looks a bit like them varieties at not so IKEA prices last time I went through.

Also Murphys furniture store in Airside had sime last time I was there -ditto good ole Arnotts surprisingly near their hidden flooring section in the furniture department.
