Ok so I know these two people one is a woman and the other a man. the woman I am friendly with and see often, the man who is away at the moment i will talk to if I see him, he probably thinks I like him but I just think hes a selfish prick to be honest.

so the issue is I know from people close to the man that he caught an std and I know he is the kind who wouldnt bother to go to doctor about it and will just pass it on to whoever he sleeps with, this guy will sleep with anyone, single, married he doesnt care as long as he has his fun.

now the woman seems to have gone off the rails and can be seeing 4 or 5 guys at the same time but shes actually a decent nice person and I would hate to see her catch anything off this guy but how do I warn her off being with this guy again?

I dont fancy her btw i just would hate to see her catching something off this creep.

Just very simple: wearing condoms. No need to spoil it all and, whether this story of him is true or not, it's always a good practice and a good advice.

She may have given the sti to him, what does he have?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,718 ✭✭✭pgj2015

it was a married woman who game him the sti, I dont want to say too much but its one of the sti's that you cant ever really cure.

They seem well suited to each other.

The sti stuff is gossip and you have no way of knowing if he has one or went to the doctor or not.

    Keep out of it.

If she is seeing 4/5 different guys surely safe sex is being practiced? As an aside other than the allegation of an std her behaviour seems to mirror his.

im not sure about safe sex to be honest, i would have my doubts that she is always having safe sex. i suppose she is an adult and should know to use condoms but i just feel a bit sorry for her, she seems to be going through a tough time and she is the kind that this guy will use then dump at a moments notice.

So the bloke is a selfish prick and will sleep with anyone but she's a decent person who sees 4 to 5 guys at the same time??!!
Steer clear it's none of your business.

Tell her the truth straight out. Ask her not to spread it or say you told her.

If i were a girl i would want you to tell me.

She could be on the pill and be the type not to ask the guy to get tested before they sleep together.

she seems to have started behaving like this when her husband cheated on her. she is just messed up as a result of this i think. something like someone cheating on you can make people act in a way they normally wouldnt. if she wasnt a nice person i wouldnt care but she is. i think she has a boyfriend now but this guy wouldnt care.

i wouldnt be far off telling her straight out but it could very well get out that i told her and thats not what i would want either.

Shes seeing 4-5 guys and you’re judging him? Maybe warn him against her. There’s a good chance that she’s the one who gave him the STI in the first place.

To be honest they sound like they are well matched. Let both of them at it. None of your business

    How do you handle it??

    Simple - you don’t!

If it were me i would not let the guy know i know. Nor would i let anyone know it was you who told me.

    But that's just me.

The spread of stds ...is societal issue ..it can be passed to children sometimes ..

She is seeing multiple guys ...they could be seeing people etc. It goes on an on.

    That's a lot of health.

It could lie in a woman for years without symptoms she gets pregnant and infects her child.
Some STDs/STIs, including chlamydia, gonorrhea, genital herpes, and cytomegalovirus can be passed from mother to infant during delivery when the infant passes through an infected birth canal. A few STDs/STIs, including syphilis, HIV, and CMV, can infect a fetus before birth during the pregnancy.

If it were me i would tell everyone he had it ...then he would get rid of it.

Okay so he has genital warts or herpes allegedly, maybe HIV, STI screening does not check for HPV warts or any of the Herpes so some one must have seen his cock to determine was it you OP?

no, not at all, I have zero interest in her in that way. one of my friends used to cheat on his girlfriend years ago and he didnt use condoms with the women he was with. i was disgusted with him and told him. its just a similar situation here tbh.

None of your business OP. They're all adults.

Nah it's not really. If it's a moral stance you're taking, maybe tell the guy his missus is sleeping with 4 or 5 other guys?

    Didn't think so.

    Hi OP

With respect, would you be able to clarify why this is a personal issue for you?

hi, i wasnt sure where to post this and thought it might be best posted here. it is a personal issue for me as it is something that is on my mind and was looking for advice on what to do.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,397 ✭✭✭✭rainbowtrout

Sorry OP, but unless you are one of the two people you describe, this is none of your business. You have it on hearsay that this guy has an STD, you have no idea if he would go to a doctor about it or not, that's a judgement you have made.

If she is seeing 4 or 5 guys then she isn't doing a whole lot different to him. They are both adults, so let them at it. They are both capable of looking after their own health. Stay out of it, it's nothing to do with you.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,718 ✭✭✭pgj2015

im gonna leave it and say nothing , they are both adults. thanks for the advice.
