    Hello,

I want to listen to the radio via wifi with wired headphones.

This phone will be used for nothing more than this.

The phone will never leave home.

    Decent battery is a plus.

Happy to pay around 100 E's

    Thanks in advance.

Why do you need a phone? Why not something like these:

Thanks for that. But. I want to travel around the house and garden.

BTW Internet radio complete with pillow speaker has been by my bedside locker for over 10 years and I love it. :):):)

How about this? Will comfortably last over a day if just using it for Wifi radio. :)

this Mi A2 Lite phone on adverts has a big battery (4000mah) so will last ages. it's a good phone in general. as a comparison the galaxy ace has a 1350mah battery. (no connection to sale)

If he's just using it for streaming audio then 1350mah will comfortably last a full day if not longer. Spending 400% more for features he wouldn't need is a bit much imo.

However if Greenman plans on using this phone also as his daily everyday phone then I agree that the Mi A2 Lite is a great phone for the price. :)

My daily phone is used for radio streaming on the way to and from work plus break times at work. In 2010 I got a smartphone because BBC World Service shut down the MW radio service :-(

This phone will be used for when I'm home and out in the garden doing jobs.

I will go out to the BAM stores on Tuesday and see what they have. Small phone with one function( radio listening) plus 3.5mm jack.

    Thanks to all.

if you want to buy in a shop in Ireland could try this Nokia 2.2 at tesco for 70 euro

    https://www.tescomobile.ie/phone-details/446/Nokia-2-2?prepay=1

    or xiaomi at same price

    both similar specs tbh.

the xiaomi is more likely to be unlocked than the nokia I would say.

Went out and got the Moto G6, works fine, battery good and does the job. So there you go, thanks to all. :-)
