I have oak cabinets that I want to change to off-white. Does anybody have any experience of this. Concerned that any scratch might show through to old wood.

Any recommendations for companies to try?

    Thanks,

Ya, I do it for a living. I use Tikkurila paint. This is very tough once cured fully ( about 3 weeks), but no paint will come out the winner if scratched with e.g. a metal corner. Your old oak kitchen would be no different. The varnish or lacquer will respond exactly the same.
