    Hi.
I'm looking for advice on what smart watch to buy having never had one before
I'm looking for one that can both store music and have access to spotify and also has it's own GPS.
I really want to leave my phone at home when I am exercising so dont want to have to connect them for music or GPS.

Thanks for any advice a I'm a bit clueless .

I think its easier to just buy an mp3 player,
    my sandisk mp3 player plays mp3s, from 64gig sdcards,s
it also has 8gig internal storage.
It takes 100 minutes to charge ,
when i plug it in to my pc or a laptop usb port.
while its charging i can transfer music onto the sdcard ,
    or the internal stoarage 8gig.
it shows up as drive, e, and f; in my computer.

One can drop and drag audio files onto their watch when plugged into their personal computer and can make use of the offline playlists and also has support for select music streaming services. Like the other Garmin models, the Vivoactive 3 comes fully packaged with features such as the Vivoactive 3 sans music support with the inclusion of Garmin Pay, and the GPS feature and pretty big battery life.

Other watchs may use wifi or bluetooth to transfer music files to the watch .
you,ll need to buy a bluetooth headset /earphones to listen to the music.
i dont think it has a 3.5 mm audio earphone socket.
buy one thats designed for android device,s .

do not buy an apple airpod set.

I have a samsung gear sport watch, which has been superseded by samsung galaxy watch... I love spotify and some of the watch's other features. GPS is not a feature I'd recommend. Unless they upped their game by fixing whatever was wrong with the hardware and software, I would not recommend a samsung smartwatch for GPS.

Galaxy Watch Active 2, or one of its older counterparts - Gear S3, Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch Active, etc.

I bought a Galaxy Watch Active for my wife for Christmas. It's simply amazing - built in GPS and Spotify, with loads of other apps. It far exceeded my expectations and I've never seen my wife so taken with something. You can even change the clock face to match your outfit.

Santa gave me a Fitbit Versa 2. It's like day and night. No in-built GPS, no offline Spotify and limited apps. Even distance tracking, which requires the phone at all times, is poor...
