Just wondering if anyone has experienced this... I want to close my current account as I have moved my salary payments to another account, but I have a loan attached to the account. Can I close the account and continue to pay the loan from elsewhere, or does the loan have to be cleared first? I've checked the terms and conditions document and it says that all credit must be repaid, but it's unclear as to whether this must happen in advance. The account is with AIB. Thanks for any insights.

SWitch the repayments to the new account first, leave it a month or three and then close it.
