With people now thinking about buying brand new cars, they will be trading in their current used ones.

I'm on the lookout for a relatively young used car so from 151 up. Would the next few weeks be the best time to be looking at dealers to purchase?

Keep an eye out but really the garages will be flat out handing over and prepping new cars so usually the end of month is more realistic, it will give pricing a bit of time to normalise too.

Figure out what models you’re interested in first, and then by the time you’re ready to move you’ll have an idea about model specs and pricing.

Keep in mind PCP term is usually 3 years so a lot of 161 171s should be coming in a against new cars.

Also consider that the likes of VW don’t dump cars onto the roads in the first week. It’s often into the following months before ordered cars are even delivered.

I am in similar situation. My old trusty 20year old car is past it unfortunately. I done alot of research over the Christmas. So have it narrowed down to few. All I need to do now is find a good car at the right price. Hoping for a 17 reg.

Skoda Octavia est. From online reviews & talking to people who own one & they appear to be a decent car. We have a young family so need the boot space.

Skoda's are good cars. Best of luck with your search. What's the story with the 1.2l Octavia's? Are many cars that size only 1.2l?

I am not sure about the petrol I see they have a Octavia in a 1 liter now two, whatever it is like I do not know but I am sure it is well tried & tested. I reckon it be the last combustion engine car we will buy. It will be electric next. Are you going petrol or diesel.

It's the same 1.2tsi that was available in the VW Golf. About the same amount of power as the 1.6tdi. the newer 1.0tsi is just a replacement of that engine.

Should be adequate for the Octavia.
