Different tax paid figures on payslip and revenue account

I quit two jobs last year and have been taking time off since.

The tax paid listed on my revenue account is significantly lower than the tax paid listed on my payslips.

    Why would this be?

In my experience they should match.

Could be that they took more tax than was needed. I'd be asking a payroll professional

I was paying the higher rate of tax.
I quit so I should get a lot of the money I paid at the higher rate of tax back because I didn't go much over the threshold.
I looked to do that today but the tax paid listed for both jobs is much lower than what I actually paid.

I received a payment from the second employer that I took to be an erroneous salary payment a month after I quit. I informed them and followed instructions to repay it. Now I'm wondering if it was in fact a tax repayment that I should have kept. Would it be normal to receive a tax refund a month after quitting? Payslips went to my work email there so I didn't receive any explanation of the payment.
If that's the case, should I have received a separate refund from the other employer as well?

    Not according to this:

If your employee has stopped working for you and they are now unemployed, then you do not refund them. We will refund any tax and USC due to them.
