Cava has been widely overlooked in over recent years in favour of its Prosecco cousin - at €7.30 a bottle I'll be going back for some more Arestel Cava to have stashed away for Valentine's, birthdays etc next year. Worth having a look at if you've a wedding coming up - cheap and cheerful fizz that tastes bigger than its price.

I'm not familiar with that. Is it sweet or sharp?

I don't see it advertised, when was this?

Generally speaking, Prosecco is lighter and slightly sweeter than Champagne. Cava is normally drier than Prosecco – on a par with Champagne – but is arguably less complex without the depth of flavour and distinctive 'biscuity' notes.
