Looking to buy a MIG for general jobs around the place and some car body work on a car I'm restoring.

I've it narrowed down to three but am open to other suggestions too.

    Portamig 236S transformer mig £845 15A- 235A wire size 0.6 0.8 1.0

    Cros Arc 291C inverter mig £760 30A-250A wire size 0.6 0.8 1.0

    Rtech 250A inverter including stand £900 30A-250A wire size 0.6 0.8 1.0

Welder will be used only in my garage, DIY use only , car body resto work and other odds and sod jobs .

Can anyone see any reason to pick one of the above welders above another or is there another brand welder I should look at sub £1000 sterling?

    Thanks

Rtech 180 mig. Job done if your doing DIY stuff yourself. I use gas and not flux core wire. Really happy with mine. Get on the MIG welding UK forum and you'll find a member that will give you a referral discount code.

EDIT: Think the members name is "doubleboost"

Same, got one for about 550 quid, worked a treat for welding up car sills and got me through NCT. I think it'll run up to 160A from a standard plug (not sure how long though!) It's under 20kg so handy enough to move about.
