My Gigabyte GTX 780 Ti looks like it's starting to die, artifacts and freezing on 4k resolution, seems to be stable at 1080 but everything looks blurry in game...

What would be a good upgrade, maybe 250-300 of a budget...

So far I've seen a GTX 1660, tempted by a Vega 56, but have never had anything other than Nvidia so not sure how it would stack up...

    Cheers for any info...

A good-model GTX 1660 Super/Ti or a used Vega 56/GTX 1070/1080 series (latter are actually sometimes more powerful, but lacking new features e.g. Nvidia Turing NVENC streaming encoder).

Yes was looking at the 1660ti too...

Not really willing to take a risk on 2nd hand cards, too much risk and not much come back if anything went wrong....

1660 super is good value for money. the ti is kinda redundant unless it's almost the same price as not much faster at all, few percent. Obviously though if you are gaming at 4K you are very limited in that price bracket. Also if you have a 780ti you would likely have a pretty old cpu too.

i honestly would forget about 2nd hand, mad prices. who would pay 250 for a several year old 1070 when a brand new 1660 super costs the same or less?

Yeah, just get a 1660 super then. If you can stretch to 400, a rx5700 or rtx2070 non super are massive upgrades if you're gaming at 4k.
