The Med 1 form is no longer a requirement.
You can find out more about adding health expenses from revenue. Here is the link

You add them in by completing a form 12 return online for whatever year you are claiming. If you are looking to aim for 2019 expenses incurred in 2019, then you should be able to do it from the middle of January.

Hi, do I enter the total spent on medical or do I enter 20% of the total spent?

Sorry to piggyback on the thread but I have a slightly related question if that's ok?

Can I submit all my health exp (I.e doctor bills) for the last 4 years against my 2019 form or do they have to be claimed agaisnt the year in which they were incurred?

I ask as I just realised while I had the balancing statement completed fine for the last few years I was forgetting to claim back the health expenses! I fear the ship may have sailed on the 2018/17 ones?

best to do it over 4 years otherwise it's a spike which may attract attention

I did mine about 2 weeks for the past 4 years. I went into each year and submitted from those years. I don't think it would work if you do them in the wrong year, incase you were audited.

You can amend returns from 2016 onwards even if you previously filed one.

The expenses should be claimed either in the year in which the care was provided or the year of payment ( see example at link ).

Do not put 4 years worth all into one year.

Great, thanks for the promt response, very helpful. I incorrectly assumed that you couldnt amend the previously submitted years.
