Query - Home Cinema Advice

Hi all,

Looking for some advice regarding best options for a home cinema type experience in my new build, due for completion later next year.

Im a complete novice when it comes to such matters so apologies if questions are blindingly obvious to some of you.

Is a projector system worth looking into? Do I need a separate TV or would the projector cover all TV requirements? What are the pros and cons of going down this route and are there any particular brand recommendations?

I also want to achieve a surround sound feel to this room and not just a soundbar under the TV which I never really seen the point of as TV speaker is usually adequate. What I want is sound coming from different points in the room.

Should I be looking to wire these things in during construction so as to avoid trailing wires which is something I want to avoid.

Any suggestions on what route to go down would be gratefully received.

Thanks for the post.

Lets start with the wiring.
All cables would need put in place while you have an empty shell to work with.
You would need to run speaker cables for the front left and right,Centre and rear right and left speakers. All back to the place where you will set the receiver.

The subwoofer will also need a cable but this is not speaker cable but uses a single phono to phono

Any HDMI cables would also need run in from the projector point to where ever your receiver is going to be set.

You also need to think if you want to install Atmos speakers which you could put in the ceiling while the room is getting constructed. This would give a 5.1.2 setup.

For the actual products it really depends on your budget as there are many many options.

For the projector again it depends on the budget you have set.
A projector would not have any smart features (well 90% of them don't) and are used purely for projecting an image.
They would also not have any tuners built into them so could not pick up television stations.
